I think it was a woman in the Australian outback....may have been a teacher.....I can't come up with a name but I'm sure I saw a program on it years ago. It also has a connection to the early RFDS

It was Alfred Traeger and it was based on similar radios used by the Germans in WWI.
Not Australian...not female...not a teacher I'll bet.....so not close at all.Was he a cross-dresser perhaps:-)
